Hi, I am back

Its been a long time since I sit down to post something on my blog. I took a hiatus but now I am back and in my crafty creation mode. I have made 2 new cards this year but I want to share the second one. They were both silimar pop up cards. This particular one I made for my cousin's girlfriend's birthday recently.

She simply loved it according to him and its found a special place with her pretties. I was happy to hear that I was worried she wasn't going to like it. But it has her favor thing in it, a puppy dog so I was sure she would like that at least.

I am going to try to start posting once a week (or more) depending on what project I am working on at the time. Tomorrow I am hoping to get to work on the St Patty's day card I have in mind for some friends.

With that all said....until next time.....

Wow 2012 already?

Where in the world did 2011 go so quickly? Today is already the 3rd of January. I have spent some time getting my ideas and goals all in order, and boy do I have some doozies to work on. I have decided to go on a spending freeze as far as my craft projects go except if I run out of adhesive (you can't very well craft without adhesive now can you)? I made it a goal to do 2 layouts a week (it can be digital or paper, just as long as at least 2 get done a week) and 4 cards a week (whatever variety I am feeling at that time). After I get 20 layouts AND 40 cards finished then I can go spend no more than $25 on crafty stuff. I figure after 10 weeks if I stay on task, I will be ready to go spend on something new to help me along with the next 10 weeks :) Tomorrow I will start working on 3 of the cards, I have a birthday card to make and 2 anniversary cards to make for this month so that will get 3 of this weeks done. The layouts I am doing are Our First Snow 2012, we got enough school that some of the kids were out of school today so I figure that would be a good one to do. And I am thinking the second one is going to be Kaitie opening up her camera, that she got for Christmas. I told her in the summer that I was getting her a camera for Christmas because I wanted her to leave my phone (which has a camera on it) and my digital camera alone. She told me a few days before Christmas that she knew I hadn't got it for her. Imagine her surprise when she opened that HUGE box and in it was her camera. Of course, the huge box was to throw her off on what it could be. lol
So see, I am already got this week's planned and all I have to do is get it done. Tomorrow being Wednesday, I will have the house to myself with the exception of the yard yappers so I will have time to work on some of the stuff I need to get these goals met by the end of the week.
I would like to do a scrapbook page on each of my yard yappers before the year is finished. I also need to get busy on Sean's book that he will get for his 18th birthday (which is May 9th) that I have been working on in my mind for the past 3 months. Its going to include his freshman football pictures, the school pictures since his freshman year, and things that has happened to him since he became a high schooler. Then as he goes on into his senior year next year, I can just add to it. And I want to get Kaitie's photos from last summer scrapped. So see meeting the goal of 2 layouts per week, shouldn't be too hard. And I figure I can work on all kinds of cards. After all the birthdays, anniversaries and such for the month are done, I want to get some sympathy cards stacked up because last year our lives were touched by death so many times that I don't want to feel rushed to do the cards as I did last year when we had 3 deaths in 2 weeks. I also want to get the usual birthday, anniversary, thank you, get well, thinking of you cards stocked up so that they are done and all I need to do is sign them, put them in the envie and drop them in the mail.
Another goal I have is I would like to post more often to my blog. I realize I am not the best crafter but I would like to have a way of displaying most of the creations I do, good bad or indifferent. I would like to be able to look back and see my progress as a crafter.
Well its getting late, its after midnight here, so I am going to leave this at this point.
Until next time....Happy Crafting!

Christmas is over and time to get busy getting ready for next year (2012)

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and will have a safe and Happy New Years. I am staying home on New Years. I don't really celebrate the New Year like most people. I would rather do it at home without all the fanfare that goes with it.
Another Christmas down and time to get myself busy organizing and putting away the crafty Christmas presents so that I can get myself back into my creative mode. I got several craft presents from the Jolly Man himself. My favorite present was the Martha Stewart Scoring Board. I cant wait to see what all one can create with this. So far Kaitie loves making the lines with it. :) I also got my 4x6 mounting block for my stamps. I need to get a bigger one because the stamp I actually wanted this for is bigger than the 4x6, its a post card stamp from Oriental Trading. So next time I am out and about I need to see if Hobby Lobby has a bigger block. They didn't last time I was in there but maybe I will get lucky next time.
Well I'm off to clean my work table off so its ready to get started as soon as the mood strikes. :)
Until next time....Happy Crafting!

Sorry for not updating....

I have been sick this past week. Was in the emergency room Sunday night and found out I have two bacteria infections. (Now tell me I ain't good?, lol). Anyway with the help of the antibodics I am starting to feel better. Family Traditions....MyMemories Challenge

Every year on the Saturday following Thanksgiving we put up our Christmas Tree. It sometimes goes pretty easy but this year, it was a nightmare. We couldn't find not one single strand of lights that all the lights worked on. So we took the strand with the most bulbs and that's what we put on the tree. It was to late to run out and get a new set and finished decorating it. When we turned it on to see how it looked, the bare spots weren't so bad, and we decided to leave it. We decided it gave it character....lol   Anyway, here is the finished tree....Enjoy!
